Herbal Tea

Herbal tea, also known as tisane, is not really "tea". It is not made from the Camilla sinensis plant.
Herbal or Wellness teas are usually made from dried herbs, spices, fruits and nuts. They are enjoyed for their taste and their medicinal properties, anecdotes or Grandma's remedy, whatever you may call it, herbal tisanes have been around for centuries.

The most commonly known/used herbal teas are:

Chamomile - used to promote sleep, relaxation
Mints - soothe upset stomach
Rose hips - high in vitamin C and antioxidants
Rooibos - antioxidants
Nettle - anti inflammatory properties
Ginger - nausea, inflammation, help with the common cold
Hibiscus - high in vitamin C, bioflavonoids
Elderberry - overall respiratory health, flu, allergies

Monday Morning Blahs

I have never been one to hate Mondays, but I definately get the Monday blues.

Today I woke up in pretty good spirits, and looking forward to a lovely work week, until I started getting that achy crampy feeling that we women are so fortunate to experience once a month.  But, it's nothing a little Advil can't help.

Leaving for work a tad bit behind schedule because my hubby got a call out and had to leave a bit earlier, so he honed in on my bathroom time, my lovely truck wouldn't start. It's a strange thing, it only does this when it rains, and it of course rained yesterday and during the night. So that made me late for work, totally changed my Mood for the day.

But now, I'm drinking my favorite tea, Cinnamon Hearts Pu'erh, and it brings me back to my center.

Happy Monday!
